A $100k+ Candy Apple Course
Danira Cancinos in 2012 launched a baking business but it got a bit too busy and she eventually realized she wanted to teach. In 2017 she started teaching cooking classes using Facebook Live for $10-20 and enjoyed it.
In January 2019 she took an online course teaching students how to turn their expertise into an online course. Danira decided to start a course on candy apples and charged $200 for a nine-session course covering everything from what you needed to packaging.
Her first Facebook Live course started in May 2019 and 315 people signed up for it. She made $63,000. In September 2019 she made another $63,600 when 318 people signed up.
She also did a cookie course for $185 when covid kicked off and 320 people took that course which led to another $59,200.
If you check out Danira’s caramel apples you can tell she has a lot of skill that would be useful to bakeries. So it’s not only the hobby crowd, but the small business crowd that have signed up.
She also nailed a niche. Being the expert for caramel apples is something not a lot of people are doing.
If you’re looking to bring in funds for an online course I would check out Justin Welsh. He focuses on helping people create a solopreneur business and has some amazing tips on how to identify a sub-niche and marketing options. His course is also a lot cheaper than some of the other offerings that were typical a few years back.
